- /usr/bin/install: cannot stat `eggdrop': No such file or directory
Installing in directory: '/home/username/eggdrop'. Renaming old 'eggdrop' executable to 'oeggdrop'. Copying new 'eggdrop' executable and creating symlink. /usr/bin/install: cannot stat `eggdrop': No such file or directory make: *** [install-bin] Error 1
This error is caused by you renaming your source directory to 'eggdrop'. Don't do this. Ever. The easiest way to fix it is to completely delete it and start over, without renaming the source directory. Reason: Eggdrop attempts to install to ~/eggdrop by default. When it tries to copy over itself, Bad Things happen.
- configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
This error is shown if an acceptable C compiler isn't found by eggdrop, either because it's not installed or it's missing from $PATH. I suggest consulting your OS's documentation or googling.
